ROC works in conjunction with Icon Cancer Foundation to advance scientific research in the field of cancer treatment and care by providing ROC staff and clients the opportunity to participate in high quality clinical trials.
Previously known as Oncology Research Australia (ORA), in 2017 ORA merged with Icon Cancer Foundation; Australia's largest private provider of cancer related clinical trials. The research team consists of a collaborative network of radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, haematologists, radiation therapists, physicists, oncology nursing staff, data managers and biostatisticians working together to develop new treatments in the field of cancer research and improving health care for patients.
The Foundation will continue to expand research support to the growing number of Radiation Oncology Centres.
As a not-for-profit organisation, all funds raised by ICF are reinvested into supporting initiatives such as unfunded clinical trials, investigator and allied health driven research projects, improving patient access to trials, patient outcomes projects, new equipment and educational initiatives – all initiatives that support developments in cancer research.
ICF is currently offering radiation oncology trials at Toowoomba, Cairns and Gold Coast sites. For a list of of ICF's currently clinical trials click here.
